HOW TO GET TO RANDALL’S ISLAND

Pedestrian and Bicycle Access

We strongly encourage you to walk or ride onto Randall’s Island from any of several pedestrian bridges. It is probably the fastest and most efficient way to get on and off the island. The primary pedestrian crossing is over the RFK Bridge (Triboro) from Manhattan – at E. 125th Street and Second Ave (take any subway to 125th St and then a crosstown bus transfer).

Other pedestrian walkways are at E. 103 Street and FDR Drive (Manhattan); from the South Bronx and from Astoria, Queens. See website for detailed information on those other pedestrian walkways.

MTA Bus Service

There will be Special Express Bus Service provided by the MTA- bus X80, running every 3-6 minutes. This bus can be boarded on Lexington Ave, between E. 125-126th Street. Regular bus fares are in effect, and you will need a Metrocard to board. (Can obtain one at the Subway station below the bus stop).

The regular M-35 bus service that services Randall’s Island can also be boarded at Lexington Avenue, between E. 125-126th Street.

Taxis, Ride Share Services

You can use these services to drop off at Randall’s Island but they generally will not be available to pick you up from Randall’s at the end of the day. We advise either walking or taking a bus to Manhattan and arranging for pickup from there.

By Car

There is no public parking for private cars on Randall’s Island. We strongly discourage driving there. If you are planning to drive, please park in either Manhattan or Astoria, Queens and either walk on to the island, or take another form of transportation from there. There is a large parking garage at E. 116th Street and Pleasant Ave in Manhattan (Costco). Also, a parking garage near the 103rd Street footbridge – MPG Garage, 440 East 102nd Street.

PICK UP (IMPORTANT)

We strongly recommend walking back across the bridge after the festival. It will be hard to get a taxi from Randall’s Island.
